  1. Hi Jenny, Brandi here (If you recall me from instagram @thirteengrimoire)!
I am launching my second collection on my online store on the 31st July and was hoping I could send some stuff from my new collection to you for some photos/ review post in return! :-)
If you’re interested in this small partnership I would possibly be sending you the items by the first week of August since I will need to hand make the items according to your measurements.
Thanks Jenny, continue making those lovely vegan recipes <3

    xx,
    Brandi Foo

  2. hey jenny can you make a video about what kind of food shoudl i eat to improve digestion, im getting back pain, and drinking water is the olny thing that calms it down a bit. i also do intermitent fasting, could this be related??

    • hi mary !
now i’m not a doctor, to i think you probably should turn to your physician for help with your back. one thing i stumbled upon recently though, is that lower back pain has been linked to high cholesterol, and eating too much saturated fat (it decreases blood flow to the lower back making it ache i believe?). do you eat a lot of animal products high in saturated fat ?
also, eating anti-inflammatory foods (and really staying away from all dairy) can help ease chronic pain. again, i’m not a doctor, but i would never recommend fasting. much better to focus on getting all that plant nutrients in your body ! just treat yourself to tons of fruit and veg, and skip the dairy, eggs and meat. i hope that could help you, but is till believe you should see a doctor if you haven’t already.
i wish you all the best and hope your back will get better soon !

  3. hey jenny!! :D im feeling fine today, i guess it ’cause im drinking way more than 2L of water daily, is that normal?? im a sedentary person thought :/ do you drink this much water on a vegan diet? im feel fine with my weight cause i eat raw and wholesome food on a daily basis, but dairy or meat only once at week with my family or friends, (lunch only)
I got pains like this (on the back of my floating ribs) last year too, when i tried intermitent fasting, maybe my body cant handle it lol but i really think fasting has great healt benefits. im gonna see if more insoluble fiber, tonsss of water, and some anti-inflammatory food helps!!
    thank for the advice :)

    • i don’t know what’s normal but i prob drink 2-3 litres of water a day. you should check out nutritionfact.org’s videos on lower back pain, they have a few. being sedentary is of course very tiring for the back. i too often feel tense after sitting all day. getting up and moving once an hour really helps for me. best of luck to you, i hope you feel better soon !!

  4. Hallo.
Jenny love your blog as I mentioned to reply about Berlin. Your photos and video are fantastic. Can you tell me what kind of camera and set-up you are using? Its truly amazing but I´m sure it has a lot to do with the person´s talents behind the lens. Thanks!

    • hi karan !!
first of all, thank you sooooo much for the berlin comment, i just glanced at it and it looks so helpful. i’m gonna read it through more carefully now and listen to all your wonderful advice. i’m sure there are a bunch of stuff i’ll look into thanks to your comment, to thank you so so so very much !
regarding our camera equipment – we have a canon 600D with a canon 50mm f1.8 lens and a tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens. and haha, you have a point – we edit our photos and videos A LOT (this is actually one of the questions i’ll be answering in tomorrow’s Q&A video !)
thank you again and have beautiful day <3

  5. Hello Jenny,

Thanks for all you recipes, advice and kind words! You are a great inspiration for me and my love.

  6. HI Jenny,
this is a message from Ottawa, CANADA.
I really love your recipe, they looks like pretty good!
You like minimalistic food and I’ve tried a recipe once that you may like!
This is a bread for breakfast:
    3/4 cup of chickpeas flour
    1/2 cup of Buckwheat flour
    1/4 tsp of salt
1 tpst agave nectar or mapple sirop
    1 cup of water
    1 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
2 tpst coconut oil milted (personnally used Olive oil!)
1/3 cup of dry grappe (personally tried with dates and dry canneries!)

Preheat the oven at 375F. Put some parchemin paper into a square mold 8×8 or 9×9.
In a big bowl, mix all the ingredients.
Overturn into the mold and cook 35 minutes. Let cool a few minutes in the mold before of cut in 6 slices(edges).
Once completely cooled, you can store your slices of bread in the refrigerator and roast them in the toaster as of true toasts.
Notes(Marks): tear them on the top of the bread are completely normal.

  7. Hello!
I discovered your youtube channel today and I have never been more inspired. I love all the vegan youtubers out there but I absolutely love the way you film and edit your videos. Not only does all the food look delicious, your calming voice and small text gives the video a calm and comfortable feeling (great for binge watching!). I have been vegan for about 6 months now and I am so happy I discovered you. You better believe I will be stalking your blog now! Thank you for everything, keep up the great work.
    Much love,
    Rahat

  8. Hi Jenny, I also discovered your YouTube channel after Emily Von Eow had shown a post of one of your delicious recipes on Instagram. I am new to the vegan lifestyle and love creating my own recipes and have been delighted by your channel and recipes. Please…Please…. Publish your book in English! I am tempted to buy it and translate!! Thanks so much for sharing your fabulous recipes :)

  9. Hi Jenny!
Working my way through the recipes in your cookbook (I’m Swedish, from Stockholm) and decided to do your powdered broth (on p. .
I was just wondering if the amount of salt in the recipe is correct? it says 3 tablespoons, which seems a lot compared to all the other ingredients (aside from the corn flour).
I did just one tablespoon and then tasted it. It was pretty salty just from the one.
Is it a typo and supposed to be teaspoons?

Thanks for all your great ideas and recipes!

    best regards
    Henrik

  10. Hello Jenny!
My name is Ana, Im 19. Im bolivian and vegetarian and thanks to you I really want to become vegan now.
I love your blog! I find it really inspiring.
I would like you to help me with something about being vegan/vegatarian. The other day i asked this friend (that considers herself an animal lover-ecologic person) why she wasnt vegetarian, and she answered: ‘because i believe in the natural food chain’.
Any thoughts on that? i would like to hear your opinion…
Keep going with the recipes and the videos! youre amazing :)
    Love
    Ana

    • jennymustard

      hey ana !
thank you so much for reaching out and for following my blog :) so happy that you’re considering going vegan, it’s amazing !
regarding your questions, it’s difficult to answer that shortly here in the comments, but i’ll try !
first of all, humans are not carnivores. we are not meant to eat meat to the extent that we do in modern society, and it is killing us to do so. our bodies are built to eat predominately plants. therefore, eating the way we do today is in no way playing our part as humans in the food chain.
secondly, i would argue that it is not at all natural to keep animals of another species captive their whole lives in cramped indoors environments, to impregnate them, and kill them as we see fit, just because we can. no other animal keep animals captive in this way. no other animal drink the milk from another species. no other animal actually drink milk at all as adults. and then there’s gmo’s, antibiotics, growth hormones and tons of other stuff in animal products that make eating them far from natural in my opinion.
i hope this answers your question ana ! and good luck with moving towards a more vegan lifestyle :) looking forward to hearing about how it goes !
      lots of love // jenny

  11. Aubrey Boudreau

Hi, Jenny!! Please, please, please put your cookbook in English! I love your videos and blog!

    Yours,
    Aubrey

  12. Hi Jenny!

First of all, let me tell you that watching your videos is an absolute delight! Keep up the good work. Also, I would like to subscribe to your blog but I cannot find the option to do it. Do yo have an option to subscribe ?

  13. Hi, Jenny!
First, I wanted to let you know that I have been enjoying your videos. I have been a Vegan for 2 months now. I have been off and on for the past few months, but I have fully transitioned now. When you first became a Vegan did you experience any constipation issues? Do you have any suggestions with what will help?

    Thanks so much, Anthony.

  14. Hi! I love watching your videos every week!
I have a question about hair colour. I’ve been wanting to go blonde (I have light brown hair naturally) but I am scared that bleaching it might hurt my scalp. Has bleaching it regularly had any affect on your skin?
I would love if you could talk about the experience a little. Keep up the amazing, inspiring videos!

  15. Hello Jenny!

My name is Cicely, from Atlanta, Georgia, and I stumbled upon your YouTube channel a few months ago. Your videos are so pleasing to look at, the first time I saw one I was entranced. I love your focus on minimalism and living a healthy livestyle. Making changes in my lifestyle to be less of a consumer/hoarder has increased the quality of my life in immeasurable ways. I feel less stressed and  less mentally cluttered and I have a much better idea of what my personal style is. Less is really more! One of my favorite scriptures states that “if your eye is simple, your whole body will be bright”. Taking a more minimalistic approach in my life has afforded me the time and energy to be more creative and do things that are of value to me. I feel that I am making the best use of time. I’ve always wanted to travel, and in the past few months I’ve been able to prioritize and save up to buy some plane tickets.  Infact, I’m in Costa Rica right now! (And it is so hot!!) I am visiting friends here and I am really enjoying it. I’m helping with a worldwide preaching work that is happening all over the world right now. I show people how they can find encouragement and answers to important questions from their Bible. I thought you would appreciate an article I found on dealing with anxiety. It’s in Swedish! Thankyou so much for sharing how minimalism has impacted your life for the good and for helping others to try it out for themselves.
    Have and wonderful day.

Hi Jenny! I just wanted to let you know that you have been a great inspiration to me since I recently stumbled across your YouTube channel a few months ago. For the past few years I have been going through a difficult time with myself as well as my family and career. Everytime that I look at one of your videos I just become inspired in every way; from gradually changing my eating habits to become much healthier, decluttering my lifestyle, to enjoying life one step at a time, etc. I would love to know if you have any advice on how to save money when you have a very small income coming in and any advice on starting a small home business. Thank you!

  18. Hi Jenny!
I love how minimalistic and neat your videos and blog are!
I’m wanting to be a professional blogger.
Can you share some tips about blogging?
I’m inspired to start a vegan blog to spread the vegan message in Japan (where people are extremely misinformed).
    Any tips would be appreciated!
    Thank you :)

  19. Hey guys love the channel!
Is your cookbook available in English? If so from which online retailer.
I live in australia and love your recipes.
    Cheers,

    Hej Jenny!

  21. Hey Jenny,

I’ve descovered recently your blog and vlog and i adore the way you are talking. Without pauses and aaaa….aaaa. I also love the music you are using in vlogs. Can you put the names in the descriptions?

    Thanks

  22. Hello Jenny !
My name is min-jung from seoul, Korea.
I am such a huge fan of your YouTube channel and
so glad that you love the Korean spices and Kimchi !

  23. Briana Morell

Hello! I am a student at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. I don’t think women in design/business get enough recognition for what they do, so for a school design project I am interviewing women in design/business (having your own blog i would definitely consider a business) who also work under the aspects of sustainability. I know being a minimalist and being vegan do a lot for keeping up a sustainable life compared to most people and I love to hear inspiring information, things that maybe I never knew before, what living minimal truly means to you, how you believe what you are doing is beneficial to the environment and challenging consumer society, tips of owning a blog, why you went vegan, or on being an entrepreneur, and much more :). It would be such a pleasure to interview you and ask you a few questions over email if possible and if you aren’t too busy!

  24. I just want to know what I have to eat everyday???? I want to go Vegan but want to do it right on a budget

  25. Martina Poon

Hi guys, or “Moin” as we say in North Germany. I’m Martina and originally from Kiel, Germany, yes almost Denmark. I moved to the US a long time ago (1991) and live in LA now in a small boathouse. I love the simplicity of a minimalistic lifestyle. Your style is awesome. Do you have any recommendation where I can shop in the US? I’m a vegetarian and do care about better quality clothing but don’t want to spend a fortune at the same time. I’m looking for some basics to gradually replace my older items and wear almost all grey and black. We have Muji stores here and also Uniqlo. I’m old but still refuse to look and dress like everyone else. Enjoy Berlin! Tschüssi Martina

  26. Hi Jenny,

I have a style question and was wondering if you could help.
I’ve been for while now transitioning my style to be more Minimalist Japanese inspired as have I always dressed most comfortably in this aesthetic. I’ve recently found your blog and have been following your style tips – I can say I feel so much more myself after taking some of your advice – it was also nice to find that I’m not alone in a preferred style of clothes.
My wardrobe is mostly black and neutrals but I have a couple statement clothes in a bright colour that I still very much love. One is even bubblegum pink (completely not my usual colour)
Do you have any tips on styling a bright statement colour as a minimalist and still feeling/looking chic?

    Thank you so much!

  27. Hallo Ihr Beiden,

First: I love your Videos and your Podcasts! You both have such a nice relationship.
So: The last time, looking through my kitchen and making a list for my next big shopping, i was asking myself which things You always have in your kitchen. Could you please make a video of the, maybe 10, things you always have in your kitchen (to eat)? Like Tahini, Rice, Soysauce,… That would be so nice.
And maybe you can tell which german words you’ve learned and you think sound funny. Both of you, of course.

    Lieben Gruss,
    Marion aus Münster, NRW.

  28. Jenny hello! Thanks a lot for you youtube cannal, it’s my favorite and vegan insparer. I want to buy your cookbook, but I live in Russia. How much it cost in $ or EURO and can you send the book to Russia?
