GOING PLACES : happy cow meetup at själa mat

last night i went to a vegan meetup event created by website happy cow, at my favourite place to eat in stockholm : själa mat.

if you haven’t heard about happy cow – prepare to thank me later.
the website’s a lifesaver when travelling, listing vegan and vegetarian restaurants, as well as health food shops all around the world. if you’re new to veganism or vegetarianism, happy cow’s a great place to start when trying to find out where to eat in your own city.

earlier in the day yesterday i met up with ken from happy cow to ask him about his favourite places to eat in stockholm. stay tuned for the video !

just look at all that gorgeous food being prepared. was talking to my friend chef josef at själa mat about food last night and he said something lovely :
“you know i’m not really into the fine dining thing where they take a carrot and make it taste like a strawberry or whatever. me myself, i’d rather take a carrot and make it taste like a thousand carrots.”

and let me tell you, the marinated carrots he was treating us to last night was definitively not playing around.

life goals :

the food was just as inspiring as always – unusual, wonderfully flavourful, and exciting. sorry for the shitty quality images, it was really dark in the restaurant.

when we got home after the dinner, i felt completely content without feeling heavy or overly full. i love eating food that just makes your body sigh with happiness, keeping busy working away at those veggie nutrients in your tummy.
there really is a hugh difference between being full and being content.

if you haven’t checked that out already, i made a video when i visited själa mat earlier this year.
and if you’re ever in stockholm, treat yourself to some of josef’s food, you won’t regret it.
