congratulations to the new vegan cookbook giveaway winners !
i really wish i could send a book to everyone who entered the contest, but i don’t think my publisher would like that one bit.
i feel so lucky to have such beautiful followers / subscribers – it’s you guys who make this the best job in the world.

anyway about the recipe ! david used to make this for me for breakfast everyday our final year in london, and i had sort of forgot about it. it’s also a great late night treat when that sweet craving sets in. crap-free and with an added nutrient punch from the turmeric and black pepper ( remember : eat turmeric everyday ) !

to me, this taste like a chocolate milkshake should taste. so sweet and creamy, there’s nothing boring or depriving about it – even though it’s the healthiest ever and so ridiculously simple.

the healthiest choko milkshake
3 tbsp cacao (unsweetened cocoa powder, or raw cacao)
a pinch of turmeric
a pinch of blackpepper
50 ml / 0.2 cups oats
300 ml / 1.25 cups water
3 bananas, sliced and frozen for at least 6 hours
cinnamon (optional)

– mix the oats in a blender or food processor until the consistency of flour.
– add the cacao, spices, and a little bit of the water and blend until completely smooth. add the rest of the water and blend again.
– add the banana slices, break apart if they have formed larger chunks. mix and serve with a dash of cinnamon !

i love recipes that work both as breakfast, a light lunch, an afternoon snack, or a late night treat.
you guys seem to like these crazy simple sweets / snack recipes too right ? let me know what you want to see more of !
