RECIPE : peach berry breakfast bowl

peachberry2c-e1437980008720.jpg

the simplest summer breakfast around. peaches, berries and homemade oat milk. a healthy, refreshing, and incredibly easy way to start the day. i usually make a huge batch of oat milk one or two times a week, so i have it ready to go at every breakfast. it’s cheap, healthy and super yummy.

i thought a healthy breakfast recipe should be in place today, as a follow-up to yesterday’s video – with my 3 ways of taking back your health, that has really worked for me.

i like using frozen organic black currant, because they’re quite cheap for being organic berries. also i love the white frosty look of them when you bring them out of the freezer. the fresh sourness of black currant makes them my favourite berry i think. but blueberries would work just as well if you like sweeter things.

to start the day beautifully. i realise most people are rushed in the morning. but i can’t stress that early, it ruins the whole day for me. so breakfast is sacred in my home, it’s never rushed. i’ve always had the habit of getting up half an hour earlier than i need to, just to have a moment of peace before i start my day. it’s so worth it. and making my breakfast lovely is a big part of that. it can be quick. it can be easy. and at the same time quite beautiful.

peach berry breakfast bowl
1 serving
1 peach or nectarine
100 ml / 0.5 cup black currant or blueberries (fresh or frozen)
a handful of organic raisins
250 ml / 1 cup of homemade oat milk
a healthy pinch of shredded coconuts

– cut the peach in half and remove the pit, place in a bowl
– add berries, raisins and milk. i always use organic raisins, since the conventionally grown grapes are so heavily sprayed with pesticides
– top off with a sprinkle of shredded coconut

i’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s breakfast.
