when i, just before christmas, made my first video about the danish word hygge, you guys went a little crazy. in a good way.

and i don’t blame you – this cosiness concept that most of us scandis think it’s the most important thing for our overall well-being is quickly becoming a trend that’s taking over the internet.

a trend all about calming, cosy atmospheres and enjoying the simple pleasures in life ?
more of those please !

if this is the first time you’ve heard about hygge ( or mys as we call it in swedish ), or you still don’t feel like you’re on the clear on what this whole cosiness thing is about – i suggest you take a look at my first hygge video here.

now let’s get down to business – 4 reasons why i think we could all use a little bit more hygge in our lives !

  1. I think this might be related to the German concept “gemuetlich”. It’s often translated as cosy or comfortable, but it really means “good for the soul” as well.

  2. I’ve found out about this concept while living in Denmark. COMPLETELY changed my life, but you have explained it in the most hygge way possible, I love it. Thank you for your videos and best wishes from Lithuania.
