INTERIOR : my new reading corner | kähler design collaboration
i’m a lucky stylist, i’ve teamed up with kähler – a danish design and home decor brand, with everything from tableware to bathroom decor.
if you saw my latest apartment tour video, you already saw the gorgeous new plates, bowls, mugs, and vases i have from kähler, called the ombria series. i’ve also used them to style these shots, i got the ones in creamy white and cool grey.
except for the tableware, kähler also sent us their unit furniture, used here as a coffee table, but it also works just fine as a stool. and since it’s hollow with a removable lid, why not use it as a storage unit ? we actually have one in our bathroom as a laundry basket. most luxurious laundry basket ever ?
the bottom is made from ceramics and the lid is in a light colour wood. the two holes in the porcelain on the side makes it easier to carry of course, but i also like it as a design detail. it makes it look cuter, don’t you think?
so the unit makes an excellent addition to our apartment, because it now means that we have a little area just for relaxing and reading. if you read yesterday’s post about our super relaxed weekend, you know all about what i’m reading at the moment and just how much i’m enjoying it.
the acapulco chair is perfect for reading in my opinion. with a pillow under your head, it feels a bit like laying in a hammock. almost too relaxing !
i think every home needs a corner. a little area for the luxuries of life – reading, writing, having a drink with your partner after a long day, flipping through a glossy magazine with stories of inspiring people and beautiful places.
basically a place for unwinding at the same time as refilling. refilling on inspiration, relaxation, romance, and a glass of wine here and there.
these are david’s favourite flowers. the make a good match for our white and wood themed home.
you know, it’s strange. we never intended our new home to be white and wood.
white – yes.
wood ?
that just sort of snuck up on us. so many of the best brands have stunning light coloured wood furniture, so we just went with it. so far i’m really happy with it. fingers crossed it will stay that way. when it comes to interiors, i’m definitely a whiteoholic.
this is a busy week. normally i love my work so much that i wouldn’t long for the weekend. but with this new cozy corner, i can’t wait to repeat last weekend’s slowness – with a good book in one hand and a nice glass of wine in the other.
a big thank you to kähler for being so generous and helping us making our home so cozy – without compromising on the minimal scandi aesthetics of course !
love // jenny
